HL Deb 27 October 1981 vol 424 cc942-3

26 Clause 29, page 37, line 24, leave out ("sent out") and insert ("issued").

Lord Trefgarne

My Lords, I beg to move that this House doth agree with the Commons in their Amendment No. 26. I understand that it was suggested by the Law Society that it would be preferable to avoid the use of different wording when describing identical actions. Clause 29(1)(a), to which Clause 29(3) refers, speaks of certain documents, issued in the course of the business". Although the action to which Clause 29(3) refers is the same in effect, it might be construed to have a slight difference in meaning if it continues to refer to "documents sent out". This amendment seeks to correct that difficulty. I beg to move.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said amendment.—(Lord Trefgarne.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
