§ Lord BeswickMy Lords, while congratulating the noble Lord, the Lord Chairman of Committees, on the distinguished list he has here, may I ask him to assure the House that it is still necessary to have so formidable a size of committee? To have 61 members on a Select Committee seems rather on the large side. May I ask the noble Lord to say how that figure is arrived at?
§ Lord AberdareThis has always been a large committee, my Lords, because there are a number of very important sub-committees like the Refreshment Committee, the Administration Committee, the Finance Committee and the Library Committee, and for that reason it tends to be very large.
§ On Question, Motion agreed to.
