HL Deb 10 February 1981 vol 417 c134

2.55 p.m.

The Lord Chancellor (Lord Hailsham of Saint Mary-lebone)

My Lords, I beg to move that this Bill be now read a second time. It is a consolidation Bill, and its purpose is to bring together conveniently in one Act the enactments relating to passenger vehicles used for public transport both in England and Wales and in Scotland. It is a technical Bill on a subject which is perhaps not of throbbing human interest. If given a Second Reading it will as usual be referred to the Joint Committee on Consolidation Bills. I beg to move.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 2a.—(The Lord Chancellor.)

On Question, Bill read 2a, and referred to the Joint Committee on Consolidation Bills.
