§ 1 Clause 1, page 2, line 42, after 'ineligible' insert 'or not qualified'.
§ The Earl of MANSFIELDMy Lords, this amendment ensures that the validity 1886 of a jury's verdict cannot be challenged on the grounds that one of the jurors was not qualified in terms of Clause 1(1). It therefore applies the same provisions in relation to persons who are not qualified as are secured in Clause 1(4) for ineligible and disqualified persons. I beg to move.
