HL Deb 14 October 1980 vol 413 cc1203-4
Lord DENHAM

My Lords, it might be for the convenience of the House if I announce now that the Government propose to continue the Committee stage of the Bill until approximately 12 o'clock tonight. If the Committee stage should not be completed, it would be continued tomorrow after the Committee stage of the Broadcasting Bill has been completed. The Government would hope that the Broadcasting Bill Committee stage should be completed by about seven o'clock tomorrow.

My Lords, tomorrow dinner as we normally have it in the Dining Room

will not be available. Of course, the Grill Room will be open and some form of refreshment in the two bars will also be available. In fact, as we shall be switching from one Bill to another—in the event of this Bill not being completed tonight—there will be no dinner adjournment.

My Lords, I beg to move that this House do now adjourn during pleasure until 10 minutes past eight o'clock.

[The Sitting was suspended from 7.11 to 8.10 p.m.]
