My Lords, I have to acquaint the House that the Clerk of the Parliaments has received a letter from Mr. K. Boothroyd, Chief Clerk of the Leeds Crown Court, informing him that Lord Kagan was on 12th December 1980 convicted and sentenced as follows.

On each of four counts of theft and three counts of false accounting he was fined £15,000, making a total of £105,000. Also on each count he received 10 months' imprisonment concurrent—a total of 10 months' imprisonment. In default of payment of the the fines within six months, he was sentenced to three months' imprisonment consecutively on each charge, and to run consecutively to the sentences of 10 months' imprisonment.
