HL Deb 17 April 1980 vol 408 cc410-1

DERBYSHIRE BILL [H.L.]

EAST SUSSEX BILL [H.L.]

HUMBERSIDE BILL [H.L.]

The CHAIRMAN of COMMITTEES (Lord Aberdare)

My Lords, I beg to move the Motion standing in my name on the Order Paper. These four Bills are county council Bills that follow on the 1972 Local Government Act. They have all received Second Reading in this House, and following precedent I am suggesting that the unopposed clauses of the Bills should be referred to a Select Committee. If your Lordships agree, I am happy to say that the noble Lord, Lord Aylestone, and the noble Lord, Lord Murton of Lindisfarne, have agreed to serve with me on this committee. I beg to move.

Moved, That those provisions in the Bills against which no petition has been presented, or if presented has been withdrawn in whole or in part, or which become unopposed by reason of any of the provisions of Standing Order No. 113 be committed to a Select Committee and that the quorum of the Select Committee be two.—(Lord Aberdare.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
