§ Lord BOYD-CARPENTERMy Lords, I beg leave to ask the Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.
§ The Question was as follows:
§ To ask Her Majesty's Government whether they intend to issue to the Civil Aviation Authority a new and revised guidance under the Civil Aviation Act 1971.
§ Lord TREFGARNEMy Lords, it is the Government's intention to introduce new legislation before any change is made in the existing policy guidance under the Civil Aviation Act 1971.
§ Lord BOYD-CARPENTERMy Lords, can my noble friend tell me whether that legislation will deal with the current guidance issued by the previous Government which, as my noble friend knows, had a large hole torn in it by the admirable decision of the Court of Appeal?
§ Lord TREFGARNEMy Lords, I am afraid I cannot forecast the content of the legislation. I am afraid I must ask my noble friend to await its publication, but I can say that the publication will be very soon.
