The CHAIRMAN of COMMITTEES (Lord Aberdare) moved the following Amendment:
Page 3, leave out line 10.

The noble Lord said: My Lords, I beg to move a small Amendment to the Bill. The Amendment would have the effect of leaving out the line in the interpretation clause which reads:
'the county' means Tyne and Wear County".
§ At the last minute it was discovered that the words "the county" do not actually appear in the Bill and so there was not much point in defining them.
§ On Question, Amendment agreed to.
§ On Question, Bill passed, and returned to the Commons with the Amendments.
