HL Deb 08 November 1978 vol 396 c297

2.36 p.m.

Lord WELLS-PESTELL

My Lords, I beg your Lordships' leave to make a personal statement. When replying to the noble Lord, Lord Ferrier, in yesterday's debate I said that the working group on back pain was recommending that chiropractics should be recognised as a profession supplementary to medicine. I had misread my note, and the information I gave was not accurate. I feel, in view of the nature of what I said, that it is important to inform your Lordships of the real position. I therefore wish to apologise to the noble Lord, Lord Ferrier, and also to your Lordships for the mistake I made.
