After Clause 80, insert the following new clause:

Application of investment provisions.

'.—(1) Sections 1, 2, 12, 13 and 15 of the Administration of Justice Act 1965 (which make provision for the investment of funds in court in common investment schemes and by the National Debt Commissioners) shall have effect in Northern Ireland subject to the modifications and amendments set out in the following provisions of this section.

(2) In sections 1, 12, 13 and 15 of that Act—

  1. (a) references to the Supreme Court and county courts shall be construed as references to the Supreme Court of Judicature of Northern Ireland and county courts in Northern Ireland, respectively;
  2. (b) references to rules made with respect to funds in the Supreme Court and rules made under section 7 of that Act shall be construed as references to rules made under section (Rules as to funds in court) with respect to funds in the Supreme Court of Judicature of Northern Ireland or statutory deposits;
  3. (c) references to rules made under section 168 of the County Courts Act 1959 with respect to funds in county courts shall be construed as references to rules made under section (Rules as to funds in court) with respect to funds in county courts in Northern Ireland;
  4. (d) "statutory deposits" shall have the meaning assigned to it by section (Statutory deposits) (3) of this Act;
  5. (e) references to the Accountant General (except in section 15) shall be construed as references to the Accountant General of the Supreme Court of Judicature of Northern Ireland.

(3) At the end of section 2 of that Act there shall be inserted— (3) The Public Trustee Act 1906, as modified by subsections (1) and (2), shall, for the purposes of the exercise by the Public Trustee of his functions under section 1 above be deemed to extend to Northern Ireland.

(4) In section 15—

  1. (a) in subsection (1) the reference to the Accountant General shall be omitted;
  2. (b) subsection (3) shall be omitted.'
