HL Deb 23 March 1977 vol 381 c517

2.43 p.m.

Lord DRUMALBYN

My Lords, I beg leave to ask the Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.

The Question was as follows:

To ask Her Majesty's Government whether they have yet received the report of the Working Party on the Devlin Report on Identification.

The MINISTER of STATE, SCOTTISH OFFICE (Lord Kirkhill)

My Lords, not yet. The Working Group, which was appointed in August 1976, is still receiving evidence. It is expected that the Group will report later this year.

Lord DRUMALBYN

My Lords, when the Group does report how will the Secretary of State handle the report? Will he publish it in the same way as the Devlin Report was published?

Lord KIRKHILL

My Lords, I have not yet been told by my right honourable friend the Secretary of State for Scotland quite how he intends to handle the report. I will certainly convey the remarks of the noble Lord, Lord Drumalbyn, to him later this afternoon.
