HL Deb 28 June 1977 vol 384 cc1035-6

(formerly Sale of Manors Bill [H.L.])

4.10 p.m.

Lord SANDYS

My Lords, on behalf of my noble friend Lord Kinnoull, I beg to move that this Bill be now read a third time.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 3a.—(Lord Sandys.)

Lord CLITHEROE

My Lords, before the Bill is read a third time, I should just like to thank my noble friend Lord Kinnoull and other noble Lords for the sensible Amendments which have been made to this Bill.

On Question, Bill read 3a.

Clause 6 [Powers of Councils consulted pursuant to section 4]:

Lord SANDYS moved the following Amendment: Page 3, line 9, after ("acquire") insert ("the lordship of").

The noble Lord said: My Lords, this is very largely a drafting Amendment and, to some extent, is consequential upon the changes made at Report stage on 20th June. It seeks to clarify the purpose of Clause 6, and should be self-explanatory. My Lords, I beg to move.

On Question, Amendment agreed to.

Lord SANDYS

My Lords, I beg to move that this Bill do now pass.

Moved, That the Bill do now pass.—(Lord Sandys.)

On Question, Bill passed, and sent to the Commons.
