HL Deb 26 July 1977 vol 386 c867
The LORD PRIVY SEAL (Lord Peart)

My Lords, I beg to move that this House approves the draft of the Ministerial and Other Salaries Order 1977. The draft order now before the House is designed to increase the pay of all Ministers and office holders in this House by the amounts allowed under the current round of the pay policy. The order, which is made under the Ministerial and Other Salaries Act 1975, increases the salaries of Ministers and office holders by £208 a year, or by 5 per cent. where this is less. These increases will, however, be paid only to Ministers and office holders who are Members of this House. Ministers and office holders in the other place will not be paid the increases provided for by this order, as their Parliamentary pay is being increased by £208. My Lords, I beg to move.

Moved, That the draft Ministerial and other Salaries Order 1977, laid before the House on 29th June, be approved.—(Lord Pearl.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
