HL Deb 25 July 1977 vol 386 c732
Lord ALPORT

My Lords, I beg leave to ask the Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.

The Question was as follows:

To ask Her Majesty's Government whether they will make a Statement on the present Anglo-American policy for achieving a negotiated settlement in Rhodesia.

The MINISTER of STATE, FOREIGN and COMMONWEALTH OFFICE (Lord Goronwy-Roberts)

My Lords, with the leave of the House and with the noble Lord's agreement, I shall answer this Question by repeating, at a convenient moment after 3.30 p.m., a Statement on Rhodesia which will be made this afternoon by my right honourable friend the Foreign and Commonwealth Secretary in another place.

Lord ALPORT

My Lords, I thank the noble Lord very much.
