HL Deb 19 January 1977 vol 379 cc33-4
Lord PEART

My Lords, I beg to move the Motion standing in my name on the Order Paper. The House was told on 13th May last year of the appointment of an informal Joint Committee on computer-based information retrieval systems. The Committee has now reported and my right honourable friend the Lord President of the Council and I think it right that its excellent report should have wide circulation. I hope the House will agree with me and I propose that the report shall be printed and placed in the Printed Paper Office. Similar steps are being taken in another place.

I should also like to take the opportunity of paying a warm tribute to the work of the Committee and to thank all its members, and in particular my noble friend Lord Darling who took the chair. I beg to move.

Moved, That the report of the informal Joint Committee on Computers presented to the Leaders of both Houses on 11th November, be printed.—(Lord Peart.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
