407§ Lord KIRKHILLMy Lords, I beg to move that this House doth agree with the Commons in their Amendment No. 45. This Amendment fixes 1st January 1978 as the date on which the new Act will come into force. This should give ample time for the religious bodies covered by Clause 9 to nominate their celebrants and receive the necessary authorisations, for the preparation and printing of the various forms and documents that will be required, for the training of registrars and for general publicity to ministers and others about the new procedures.
