§ Lord WELLS-PESTELLMy Lords, in moving en bloc, as I shall do in a moment, Amendments Nos. 78 to 80 inclusive, I think that Amendments Nos. 84, 85, 86, 87, 88 and 89 probably come within the same field so, with the leave of the House, I beg to move that this House doth not insist on their Amendments Nos. 78 to 80 inclusive en bloc, to which the Commons have disagreed for the Reason numbered 81.
These provisions relate to deputies, about which we had considerable debate both in Committee and at the Report stage. Although the Government have not accepted the Opposition Amendments, they have, as your Lordships will see, attempted to meet their point by proposing clarifying Amendments in lieu, namely, Amendments Nos. 85, 87 and 89 on the list. For that reason I do not propose to say anything more.
