HL Deb 18 November 1976 vol 377 c1574

[References are to Bill (193) as first printed for the Commons]

[No. 1.]

Clause 1, page 1, line 14, leave out subsections (2) and (3).

Lord ORAM

My Lords, I beg to move that this House doth agree with the Commons in their Amendment No. 1, and on this Motion I will also speak to Amendment No. 22. These Amendments remove from the Bill all reference to the redefinition of the litre and the gallon. These redefinitions and the consequential repeal of the Weights and Measures (International Definitions) Order 1963 are no longer necessary since they have already been effected in the Units of Measurement Regulations which came into force on 1st November.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.—(Lord Oram.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
