§ Lord FLETCHERMay I formally inquire whether there is a misprint in relation to this Amendment at the top of page 2 of the manuscript document where, with regard to the order it says that it should be approved by a resolution of the House? It seems to me that perhaps there is a misprint there and it should read "both Houses".
Lord ORAMYes, my Lords, instead of "the", the word, "each" should be inserted. I shall have something further to say in relation to a substitute Amendment.

§ Lord SANDFORDMy Lords, I am afraid that that will not do. I said that we were in considerable confusion and now here we are. The fact of the matter is that we have to have at least four bits of paper in front of us. One is the Commons list of our Amendments labelled at the bottom "Bill 248". Without that, you cannot tell exactly what the Commons have done with their agreed Amendments. Then you have to have the list with the figure 382 at the bottom left-hand corner which, up to this moment, we have been running through in sequence. Now, for the first time, we come to the additional Motion and Amendments proposed by the Government, tabled only this morning for us to consider, the first one of which requires a manuscript Amendment before we can deal with it. If the noble Lord would move his manuscript Amendment, then I think we would be in order.
Lord ORAMMy Lords, I think the necessary step first is that the Motion that I have just moved should be accepted by your Lordships before we get on to a consideration of the Amendment and the manuscript Amendment to which the noble Lord has referred.
