Clause 31, page 31, line 8, leave out ("17") and insert ("(False statements etc. to auditors), (Appointment and removal of auditors), (Supplementary provisions relating to appointment and removal of auditors.)")

Lord WINTERBOTTOM

My Lords, I beg to move that this House doth agree with the Commons in their Amendments Nos. 55 and 56. The four new clauses dealing with disclosure of interests in shares and so on amend the corresponding provisions of the 1967 Act which do not apply to unregistered companies. There is therefore no need to apply these clauses to such companies. The other new clauses (Welsh language, Prospectuses, Auditors of a trade union et cetera, and Register of disqualified persons) are not relevant to unregistered companies. These Amendments clarify this point. I beg to move.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendments.—(Lord Winterbottom.)
