HL Deb 11 November 1976 vol 377 c816

[Nos.18 and 19]

Clause 9, page 12, line 19, leave out ("in such form").

Clause 9, page 12, line 21, after ("modifications") insert ("in such form").

Lord WINTERBOTTOM

My Lords, I beg to move that this House doth agree with the Commons in their Amendments Nos. 18 and 19. These drafting Amendments were found to be necessary in order to ensure that oversea companies could be exempted from requirements relating to both the content and the form of accounts. These Amendments ensure that the Secretary of State will have power to prescribe exceptions and modifications in respect of the form as well as the content of the accounts of an oversea company. It corrects a drafting error, and I presume will in due course cease to be relevant so far as the Economic Community is concerned.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendments.—(Lord Winterbottom.)
