HL Deb 10 November 1976 vol 377 c415

[Nos. 3–11]

Clause 53, page 38, line 6, leave out from "evening" to end of line 9.

The Commons disagreed to this Amendment or the following Reason:

Because it is necessary to include a procedure under which applications for Sunday opening are made to licensing boards.

My Lords, I beg to move that this House doth not insist on their Amendment No. 3 to which the Commons have disagreed for the Reason numbered 4. The effect of Amendment No. 3 was to make Sunday opening unrestricted. The other place regard the safeguards of Schedule 4 as being necessary, and I recommend that your Lordships' House should not insist on Amendment No. 3.

Moved, That this House doth not insist on the said Amendment to which the Commons have disagreed.—(Lord Kirkhill.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
