HL Deb 26 May 1976 vol 371 cc265-6

Lord GARDINER had given Notice of his intention:

To ask Her Majesty's Government what is holding up the appointment of the Data Protection Committee which, in their White Paper on Computers and Privacy of December 1975, they said they would appoint " at once ".

The noble and learned Lord said: My Lords, in view of the sad death, since I put down this Question, of the chairman designate of this Committee, Sir Kenneth Younger, I do not now propose to ask for leave to put the Question today.
