§ What proportion of the activities and grants of the Ministry of Overseas Development are concerned with aid 1570 programmes for fishing, and fishing research and development, and in which recipient countries; and what proportion of such activities and grants are administered by the Rural Development Department.
§ Baroness LLEWELYN-DAVIES of HASTOEAbout 0.2 per cent. of the aid programme is being spent on fisheries research and development. The Ministry is concerned in fisheries projects in the following 40 countries:

§ In addition, fisheries research staff have been provided to the East African Community. There are also fisheries research and training projects in this country. Dependent upon their nature, these projects are administered either by Natural Resources Research Department or by the appropriate Geographical Department in the ODM, not through the Rural Development Department.
