HL Deb 16 March 1976 vol 369 c151
The LORD CHANCELLOR

My Lords, I beg to move that this Bill be now read a second time. This, too, is a straightforward Consolidation Bill. The principal Acts that it consolidates are the Legitimacy Act 1926 and parts of the Legitimacy Act 1959. Other enactments also covered are set out in the Schedules. If your Lordships approve, the Bill will be referred to the Joint Committee in the usual way. My Lords, I beg to move.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 2a.—(The Lord Chancellor.)

On Question, Bill read 2a, and committed to the Joint Committee on Consolidation Bills.
