HL Deb 24 June 1976 vol 372 cc436-7

3.29 p.m.

The LORD CHANCELLOR

My Lords, I beg to move that this Bill be now read a second time. It is a pure consolidation of the provisions relating to resale price maintenance, which means broadly the fixing by a supplier of goods of their price on resale in Part II of the Restrictive Trade Practices Act 1956 and the Resale Prices Act 1964. The Bill makes consequential repeals of certain other enactments. If your Lordships approve, the Bill will be referred to the Joint Committee in the usual way. I beg to move.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 2a. — (The Lord Chancellor. )

On Question, Bill read 2a, and referred to the Joint Committee on Consolidation Bills.
