§ [Nos. 4, 5 and 6]
§ Clause 2, page 3, line 7, leave out from "proposal" to "he" in line 8 and insert "for the alteration of the valuation list in order that an area of a caravan site shall be treated as a single hereditament under section 1(1) above, and there is not already an area of that site so treated."
§ Line 10, leave out "the number of caravans" and insert "how many caravans occupied by persons other than the site operator are".
§ Line 11, at end insert "and how much of the rateable value proposed for the hereditament he attributes to those caravans, together with their pitches".
§ Baroness BIRKMy Lords, I beg to move that this House doth agree with the Commons in their Amendments Nos. 4 to 6 en bloc. I should like to speak on these Amendments briefly because they are fairly self-explanatory. Amendment No. 4 makes clear that we are dealing here only with the first year of a site. There has been no change from the original Bill, except that we felt that it was not clear enough before, although the intention was the same. Amendment No. 5 narrows it to the number of caravans, while still discussing the situation in the first year. Amendment No. 6 refers to the total rateable value attributable to those caravans.
§ Moved, that this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendments.—(Baroness Birk.)
