HL Deb 10 November 1975 vol 365 c1633

[No. 20]

Page 12, line 30, leave out ("any regulations so made") and insert ("regulations made under this subsection").

Lord BESWICK

My Lords, Amendment No. 20 corrects a defect in the drafting of subsection (7). As the subsection now reads, the phrase, "any regulations so made" can be interpreted only to mean, "any regulations made by Statutory Instrument", which in the context is nonsense. The intended meaning is, of course, "any regulations made under this subsection", as the proposed Amendment makes clear. I beg to move.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.—(Lord Beswick.)
