§ [No. 133]
§
Clause 55, page 34, line 46, at end insert—
("In this subsection "guardian" has the same meaning as in the Children and Young Persons Act 1933.")
§ Lord WINTERBOTTOMMy Lords, I beg to move that this House doth agree with the Commons in their Amendment No. 133. This is a very simple drafting Amendment to enable a person who has custody of a child—for instance, a custodian—to fall within the definition of "guardian" for the purposes of the Legal Aid Act 1974 so as to be eligible for legal aid within the terms of Clause 55.
§ Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.—(Lord Winterbottom.)
