THE LORD PRIVY SEAL (LORD SHEPHERD)

My Lords, I have to acquaint the House that Her Majesty has been pleased to create the Right Honourable Sir Frederick Elwyn-Jones, Lord High Chancellor of Great Britain, a Peer of this Realm, by the title of Baron Elwyn-Jones, of Llanelli in the County of Carmarthen and of Newham in Greater London.

The LORD CHANCELLOR, having retired to robe, was introduced as a Baron and as Lord Chancellor between the Lord Shepherd and the Lord Gardiner.

House adjourned during pleasure.

House resumed.
