My Lords, I beg to move that this Bill be now read a second time. It is a pure Consolidation Bill. It consolidates the outstanding provisions of the Solicitors, Public Notaries, Etc. Act 1949, the Solicitors Act 1957 and various enactments amending that Act, the Solicitors Act 1965, and the Solicitors (Amendment) Bill which is now before Parliament. The Bill will be referred to the Joint Committee in the usual way and I beg to move.
