HL Deb 15 July 1974 vol 353 c835
LORD CROOK

My Lords, I beg leave to ask the Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.

The Question was as follows:

To ask Her Majesty's Government whether all the regulations necessary to bring into force the Employment Agencies Act, as to which consultations were to take place with interested bodies, are now ready to be published.

THE MINISTER OF STATE, SCOTTISH OFFICE (LORD HUGHES)

My Lords, my right honourable friend the Secretary of State for Employment on June 21 sent to interested bodies for comment his proposals for the regulations to be made under Sections 2(2) and 5 of the Act. These are the principal regulations and they relate to the amount of the licence fee and the standards of conduct to be observed by employment agencies and businesses. Proposals for the remaining regulations are in preparation, and it is hoped to issue these fairly soon for comment.

LORD CROOK

My Lords, I thank my noble friend for that reply.
