THE LORD CHANCELLOR

My Lords, I beg to move that this House doth agree with the Commons in their Amendments Nos. 2, 3 and 4 en bloc. These linked Amendments remove the Law Society's express power in training regulations to prescribe "standards of conduct" for those undertaking or undergoing educational training for the profession. However, the amended sub-paragraph (iv) still allows reciprocal duties and responsibilities to be prescribed, and accordingly the removal of the reference to "standards of conduct" represents a change of emphasis rather than a change of any substance. I beg to move that this House doth agree with the Commons in their Amendments Nos. 2, 3 and 4.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendments.—(The Lord Chancellor.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
