HL Deb 04 February 1974 vol 349 c556
LORD BALFOUR OF INCHRYE

My Lords, I beg leave to ask the Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.

The Question was as follows:

To ask Her Majesty's Government whether they have under consideration any proposals for the disposal by sale to outside interests of the Helicopter Division of British Airways.

LORD ABERDARE

No, my Lords, no such proposal is under consideration.

LORD BALFOUR OF INCHRYE

My Lords, can the Minister give an assurance that if at any time such a proposal is brought forward, Parliament will be informed and will have an opportunity of considering it before any decision is reached?

LORD ABERDARE

My Lords, I would certainly undertake that if any significant policy decision were taken about the future of the British Airways group, or any part of that group, my honourable friend would inform Parliament.
