HL Deb 30 April 1974 vol 351 cc17-8
THE LORD CHANCELLOR (LORD ELWYN-JONES)

My Lords, I beg to move that this Bill be now read a second time. It is a purely Consolidation Bill. It consolidates nearly the whole of the Insurance Companies Act 1958 and the relevant provisions in the Companies Act 1967 and the Insurance Companies (Amendment) Act 1973. The Bill will be referred to the Joint Committee in the usual way.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 2a. —(The Lord Chancellor.)

On Question, Bill read 2a, and referred to the Joint Committee on Consolidation Bills.
