HL Deb 07 March 1973 vol 339 c1144
BARONESS BACON

My Lords, I beg leave to ask the Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.

The Question was as follows:

To ask Her Majesty's Government when the Children's Regional Plan No. 2 (Yorkshire Region), submitted in 1971 and due to come into operation on April 1, 1973, is likely to be approved.

THE MINISTER OF STATE, DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND SOCIAL SECURITY (LORD ABERDARE)

My Lords, my right honourable friend the Secretary of State for Social Services has now given his approval to this plan for the Yorkshire region.

BARONESS BACON

My Lords, in thanking the noble Lord for that reply, may I ask him this question? Is the noble Lord aware that the local authorities will be very relieved to know that they can go ahead with their plans on April 1?

LORD ABERDARE

My Lords, I am very glad to know that. I am grateful to the noble Baroness.
