HL Deb 24 July 1973 vol 344 cc1769-70

[No. 6] Clause 17, page 11, line 29, leave out "unsoundness of mind and" and insert" if on that date the said person was or became under legal disability by reason of unsoundness of mind, and in either case that person".

THE MARQUESS OF LOTHIAN

My Lords, I beg to move that this House doth agree with the Commons in their Amendment No. 6. In moving this Amendment I think I can help the noble Lord, Lord Hughes. I understand that the word "nonnage" is actually the word "non-age"; in other words, "under eighteen" in this context.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.—(The Marquess of Lothian.)

LORD HUGHES

My Lords, if the noble Marquess had told me that previously I should not have believed it.
