HL Deb 23 July 1973 vol 344 c1545

[No. 14]

Clause 16, page 15, line 35, at end insert— "or (d) in any air navigation installation in the United Kingdom which does not form part of an aerodrome".

LORD DRUMALBYN

My Lords, I beg to move that this House doth agree with the Commons in their Amendment No. 14. This is another of a series of Amendments required to meet the commitment to extend the coverage of Part II of the Bill. The effect of the Amendment is to provide that it shall be an offence for any person without lawful authority or reasonable excuse to have with him any of the articles referred to in subsection (2) of Clause 16—that is to say, firearms and the like—in any air navigation installation in the United Kingdom off an aerodrome. It is not necessary to specify separately air navigation installations on an aerodrome because they are covered in subsection (1)(c) of the clause. I beg to move.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.—(Lord Drumalbyn.)
