HL Deb 20 February 1973 vol 339 c51
VISCOUNT COLVILLE OF CULROSS

My Lords, I beg to move the Motion standing in my name on the Order Paper.

Moved, That the Draft Parliamentary Constituencies (Daventry, Wellingborough and Northampton) Order 1973, laid before the House on January 24 be approved.—(Viscount Colville of Culross.)

LORD HOY

My Lords, this Order caused some little trouble, if no other did, and when one is dealing with Parliamentary boundaries one can be dealing with trouble. I remember a case of my own when an adjustment of the boundary very nearly meant being adjusted out. This is a serious business. One can understand the difficulties with Northampton, but having said that may I say that we raise no objection to this Order at this time.

On Question, Motion agreed to.
