HL Deb 18 May 1972 vol 330 c1442
LORD POPPLEWELL

My Lords, I beg to move that this Bill be now read a third time.

Moved, that the Bill be now read 3a.—(Lord Popplewell.)

LORD MOWBRAY AND STOURTON

My Lords, may I, on behalf of the Government, thank the noble Lord, Lord Popplewell, whose interest in the railways is so well known, for sponsoring this Bill in your Lordships' House? It will make matters for the travelling public, those who travel by rail in foreign countries, that little bit easier. We are now joining an international Convention of which we have already been a member. This is bringing us up to date, and I think everyone should be grateful to the noble Lord for what he has done.

On Question, Bill read 3a, with the Amendment.

LORD POPPLEWELL

My Lords, in moving that the Bill do now pass, may I thank the noble Lord for his observations in connection with my interest in this particular Bill? I am grateful to him.

Moved, That the Bill do now pass.—(Lord Popplewell.)

On Question, Bill passed, and returned to the Commons.
