HL Deb 14 March 1972 vol 329 cc319-20
THE LORD CHANCELLOR (LORD HAILSHAM OF SAINT MARYLEBONE)

My Lords, I understand that no Amendments have been set down to this Bill and that no noble Lord has indicated a wish to move a manuscript Amendment or to speak in Committee. I rise therefore to move, unless any noble Lord objects, that the Order of Recommitment be discharged. I should inform your Lord- ships that this is a purely Consolidation Bill. The Joint Committee were of the opinion that the Bill as amended represents existing law. They drew attention to one point only which they thought was necessary, which was a consequence of decimalisation and had apparently absurd results.

Moved, That the Order of Recommitment be discharged.—(The Lord Chancellor.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
