§ THE LORD CHANCELLOR (LORD HAILSHAM OF SAINT MARYLEBONE)My Lords, I rise to move that this Bill be now read a second time. As I told the House when I sought leave to introduce it, it is a pure Consolidation Bill deriving almost entirely from the second and third parts of the Pharmacy and Poisons Act 1933, as amended by the Medicines Act 1968. The safeguard is that the Bill will be examined by the Joint Committee in the usual way, and I therefore beg to move that this Bill be now read a second time.
§ Moved, That the Bill be now read 2a.—(The Lord Chancellor.)
§ On Question, Bill read 2a, and referred to the Joint Committee on Consolidation Bills.
