HL Deb 15 February 1972 vol 328 c11
LORD SHEPHERD

My Lords, may I ask the noble Earl the Leader of the House whether it is his intention that the temperature of your Lordships' House should remain at its present level during the crisis? It may be that the noble Earl feels that we should set an example. If that is the case, perhaps we could have some warning so that some of us may bring our overcoats, and those of us who are a little sparse on top may bring a hat.

THE LORD PRIVY SEAL (EARL JELLICOE)

My Lords, I am not at all clear that the noble Lord is in order in this regard. I personally am enjoying the rather equable climate which we have in the House at the present time, but I will look into the matter. I think it is a subject which could properly be looked at through the usual channels.
