EARL ST. ALDWYNMy Lords, it has been suggested to me that I might make the position clear about the debate on the Motion of my noble friend Lord Alport. As your Lordships know, the noble Lord, Lord Rhodes, was unable to move his Motion and the question was whether this debate could in fact extend beyond the 2½ hours. The answer is, 18 my Lords, that it cannot. The House has passed a Resolution requiring my noble and learned friend on the Woolsack to put the Question at the end of 2½ hours.
