HL Deb 25 November 1971 vol 325 c1143
THE LORD CHANCELLOR (LORD HAILSHAM OF ST. MARYLEBONE)

My Lords, I think it proper to acquaint the House with the fact that your Lordships' Judicial Business will require my attendance to preside over the Appellate Committee next week, and perhaps the week following. If your Lordships should therefore notice my absence from the Woolsack at 2.30 p.m. I hope that you will acquit me of any discourtesy and also of any reluctance to pray. But it is absolutely essential that I preside over the Appellate Committee. I shall, however, be available for service on the Woolsack from about 4 o'clock.
