EARL ST. ALDWYNMy Lords, with leave of the House, my noble friend Lord Lothian will be making a Statement on the Common Market negotiations at a convenient moment after 3.30 p.m. It is also intended that the Committee stage of the Industrial Relations Bill shall be adjourned for a time at about 7 p.m. in order to take the Second Reading of the Welsh National Opera Company Bill.
§ LORD SHACKLETONMy Lords, may I ask the noble Earl whether he can make a statement as to whether we shall need breakfast in the morning because of the Industrial Relations Bill, or are the Government going to treat us a little more gently to-night?
EARL ST. ALDWYNMy Lords, I was not anticipating that breakfast would be required to-morrow morning.
§ LORD SHACKLETONMy Lords, it might be useful if the House were to know. I shall not press the noble Earl now, but I repeat what I said last week, that the pressure could become intolerable and I see no reason why, if necessary, we should not sit into August.
