HL Deb 15 March 1971 vol 316 c245

[References are to Bill 93 as first printed for the Commons]

Clause 25, page 15, line 32, leave out ("1st March ") and insert ("12th April").

THE LORD CHANCELLOR

My Lords, I beg to move, That the Commons Amendment be agreed to. This is a purely formal Amendment. The existing date of the Bill has passed, so our commencement of the Bill has passed. It would be somewhat bizarre if a Bill were allowed to stop before it had received the Royal Assent. The Commons have substituted a later date. I beg to move, That the House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.—(The Lord Chancellor.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
