HL Deb 09 March 1971 vol 316 c11
LORD SHEPHERD

My Lords, with the permission of the House, I beg leave to ask a Question, of which I have given Private Notice, namely,

To ask Her Majesty's Government whether they will make a statement on the closure of the Daily Sketch.

EARL ST. ALDWYN

My Lords, with the permission of the House, my noble friend Lord Aberdare will answer that Question at a suitable moment after 3.30 p.m.

May I inform your Lordships that the House authorities are anxious, now that the postal strike is over, that the Moses Room should revert as soon as possible to its normal use as a Committee Room. I would therefore ask your Lordships to check whether you have any mail there and to remove it. It will not be possible for mail to be kept indefinitely, and means of its disposal will have to be considered if it is not collected during this week.
