HL Deb 23 June 1971 vol 320 c867
LORD CROOK

My Lords, I beg leave to ask the Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.

[The Question was as follows:

To ask Her Majesty's Government whether their attention has been called to the serious eye injury sustained by a child from yet another toy made in Hong Kong; and, if so, what action has been taken as to the stocks of such toys and future supplies.]

THE MINISTER OF STATE, HOME OFFICE (LORD WINDLESHAM)

My Lords, I was sorry to learn of this accident. The importer concerned is recalling all unsold stocks of the toy in question in order to remove the metal pin which led to the injury, and the Hong Kong Government Office will press the manufacturer to ensure that all future consignments of this toy to this country are similarly modified.

LORD CROOK

My Lords, I thank die noble Lord for his very satisfactory Answer.
